Quality CES Jacobs Type Gear Hobbing Machine
 
For sale is a part built CES (College Engineering Supplies) Jacobs Type Gear Hobber.
This machine has been very well made including quality dials and ball handles, with evidence of careful scraping (please see picture) on some of the vital parts. I think there’s just a few bits need making to finish it off, but it’s probably about 90% complete.
The castings for this machine kit are still available from CES, and cost about £360 so this is a great way to save some money and time.
Comes with a set of plans and some literature printed off Model Engineer’s Workshop Magazine to aid the build.
It’s still in red oxide primer, so you can paint it whatever colour you want.
You can see some ‘bubble’ markings from the original casting on one of the photograph – but this is no detriment to the working of the machine itself. The craftsmanship is second to none.
I haven’t built this, I’m selling on behalf of a friend’s widow.
 
Due to the size and weight, this must be a collection only item also to prevent any damage from transit. Cash on collection when you can confirm it’s as advertised.
 
Whoever ends up with this is very lucky, it’s a beautiful machine ready to be finished, you won’t be disappointed.
